Construction
Casing and cover
A rigid frame bent from an aluminium profile patented by ensol, closed underneath with an aluminium sheet. The cover is 4 mm tempered solar glass with high transmittance and an anti-reflective coating; the way the pane is mounted keeps the casing tight and minimises thermal stress.
Meander absorber
A copper sheet with a highly selective coating (95% absorption, 5% emission), ultrasonically welded to a meander of copper pipes in which the medium circulates.
Insulation and mounting
Heat losses are limited by 50 mm of mineral wool underneath and 16 mm of melamine foam at the sides. Aluminium and stainless steel mounting kits fix the collector to roofs at a range of pitches.
