A flat plate solar collector for vertical mounting, with a gross area of 2.0 m². The meander absorber is made entirely of aluminium: a sheet with a highly selective coating, ultrasonically welded to aluminium pipes.

Construction
Casing and cover
A rigid frame bent from an aluminium profile patented by ensol, closed underneath with an aluminium sheet. The cover is 4 mm tempered solar glass with high transmittance; the way the pane is mounted keeps the casing tight and minimises thermal stress.
Meander absorber
An aluminium sheet with a highly selective coating (95% absorption, 5% emission), ultrasonically welded to a meander of aluminium pipes in which the medium circulates.
Insulation and mounting
Heat losses are limited by 40 mm of mineral wool underneath and 8 mm of melamine foam at the sides. Aluminium and stainless steel mounting kits fix the collector to roofs at a range of pitches.
