A flat plate solar collector for vertical mounting, with a gross area of 2.0 m². The double harp absorber is made of an aluminium sheet laser-welded to copper pipes and covered with a highly selective coating.

Construction
Casing and cover
A rigid frame bent from an aluminium profile patented by ensol, closed underneath with an aluminium sheet. The cover is 4 mm tempered solar glass with high transmittance; the way the pane is mounted keeps the casing tight and minimises thermal stress.
Harp absorber
An aluminium sheet with a highly selective coating (95% absorption, 5% emission), laser-welded to a double harp of copper pipes in which the medium circulates.
Insulation and mounting
Heat losses are limited by 40 mm of mineral wool underneath and 8 mm of melamine foam at the sides. Aluminium and stainless steel mounting kits fix the collector to roofs at a range of pitches.
